MARY OCHER

Mary Ocher Mary Ocher is a young singer-songwriter, poet, and DJ, with a background in film, born in Moscow and raised in Tel Aviv, now based in Berlin.

In 2006 she formed Mary and The Baby Cheeses, a highly noted band in the Israeli underground circles and media in 2007. In the following year she relocated to Berlin and changed the line-up of the band.

One of her other projects is the independent festival The Queens and The Rebels (of Unpopular Culture), a theatrical music/performance art and multimedia show that started at the legendary Tacheles complex in 2009.
The second edition of the festival took place in 2010 at the RAW Temple, Berlin. also in 2009 she took part in Voices - a fundraiser event for Physicians for Human Rights in Gaza that was held at the Filmbuehne in Berlin, the event was repeated on the 10th of May 2010 in the city of Muenster and is planned to be held again in Paris late 2010.
In 2009 some of her poems and her photography project The Origins of Evil were featured in several on-line and printed magazines.
Early 2010 she organized The 15 Minute Festival in Tel Aviv, on Rothschild Boulevard, where several musicians and poets gave street performances for an eclectic crowd.
